Low Carb Green Smoothie
Smoothies are all the deal these days. They are super popular because they are easy to make and consume, and you can add pretty much any fruit or veggie you like into a blender, adding whatever flavors you like into it, and voila! You have a delicious meal prepared with no fuss at all. Today, I will be sharing my favorite recipe for a simple low carb kale green smoothie: delicious, green, and chock-full of nutrients.
Imagine this: you are up in the morning and getting late for work. You are looking for a good alternative to a traditional breakfast because you don’t have enough time to whip up a fry pan and make an omelet with your daily requirement of veggies.
Besides, if you do not like eating solid food for at least an hour after waking up, what do you do then?
Take out a blender, of course!
I love a kale-based smoothie.
Not only is the color so vibrant, but its leafy taste goes deliciously with the other ingredients and is filled with healthy macro-nutrients.
I like to add some cucumber and celery into this for that extra kick of fiber, and although you can taste the refreshing cucumber into this, you will not notice the celery at all! My breakfast does not feel complete without avocado and a helping of almond butter, so I add these in there too. For a little tangy zest, I add in some lemon juice and top everything up with whole milk to get that healthy and vegan smoothie consistency.
You can add almond milk instead to make it vegan.
This smoothie is a perfect whole breakfast for college students and working moms who do not have the hours to prepare an entire meal. You can just chug this down in one go and it will keep you energized for hours, since it is totally sugar free!
Enjoy!
